Shoutout to the Big Guy!

Nothing tastes better than a hard earned victory. Whether it's in the boxing ring, after a Super Bowl, on the pitch during the World Cup, with your teammates after the final out of a World Series, or in Trevor Bayne's case, while crossing the finish line at the Daytona 500. At that moment, life is couldn't get any better.

So when athletes are being interviewed after a win, one of the first things that person does is thank his sponsors and then a shoutout to the Big Man upstairs. When you hear or even see an athlete giving thanks on a field of play, do you ever wonder if he or she is really into their religion or is it the cool thing to do?

I know I do.

But I don't doubt the person's beliefs when I hear about how they give back. Especially, if that person is 20 year old Daytona 500 winner, Trevor Bayne.

Bayne has decided to donate a good portion of his $1.4 million purse to international Christian ministry that cares for orphans.

Back2Back Ministries provides care and assistance for orphans around the world and is a ministry that Bayne is deeply involved with. Back in December, Bayne volunteed with his minister the Rev. Lonnie Clouse, a former NASCAR chaplain, at orphanages in Monterrey, Mexico.

Clouse says Bayne called him after winning the race, and they prayed together and agreed that God had given Bayne a platform to proclaim his faith and speak up for orphans in need.

When it comes to Bayne, I truly believe when the kid gives proper thanks, it's coming from the heart.
