Jayson Werth hates the Phillies

Normally, when a former beloved player returns to their old stomping grounds, the fans usually provide a warm reception for that player. Even in Philly, they will cheer the introductions of Brian Dawkins and Donovan McNabb. However, that will not be the case at Citizens Bank Park on May 3rd.

That will be the first game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals in Philly. And it will also mark the return of Jayson Werth to the City of Brotherly Love. None of which he will receive after recent comments.

Werth insisted just last week that he didn’t have any hard feelings against the Phillies, the team he spent the past four seasons with. But a column in The Washington Post suggested otherwise.

Nationals’ general manager Mike Rizzo said, “I hate the Phillies,” to which Werth reportedly replied, “I hate the Phillies too.

Get ready boo birds, you have your first target of the 2011 season!
