Here's a view of the wildfire cause by a golfer's errant swing when he struck a rock and caused a spark that started the fire. There have been times we've all been on the golf course where we couldn't make a 2 foot putt or even land one shot in the fairway. Then there are other times when we have felt as if we're on fire on the course.
Well, one golfer's round actually was on fire...literally.
A Californian golfer hit a ball out of the rough when his club struck a rock swing is said to have sparked a fire that razed down 12 acres.
The fire burned 12 acres on a densely wooded hill by the Shady Canyon golf course in Irvine, California, and roughly 150 fire fighters were needed to put out the blaze.
Orange County Fire Authority Capt Greg McKeown said investigators determined the cause of the fire after interviewing people at the scene.
"Personally, I've never responded to that call before," the BBC quoted Capt McKeown as saying.
Officials said the golfer will not face charges over the fire on August 28.
